Wasim Malik, PhD, is a Managing Partner at Iaso Ventures, the nation’s first investment firm and venture-studio focused exclusively on neuroscience and behavioral health. He is also a professor at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he built a research program on tech-enabled clinical research in neurology and critical care.
He previously served as Chief Digital Strategist at Roivant Sciences, where he oversaw digital health strategy and investments to help accelerate drug development and commercialization. He serves on the board of directors at Saphetor and Eunoe Health, and on the business advisory board of the Epilepsy Foundation. He serves as a Senior Advisor at Health Catalyst, and on the advisory board at Mirrored Motion Works and Rexo. He is closely involved with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including serving in management roles at Eyologics and Myolex, as a startup mentor at accelerators such as Endless Frontier Lab and Dreamit Ventures, and an angel investor at Sky Ventures and MIT Alumni Angels. He is a Steering Committee Member of the IEEE Brain Initiative, the Chair of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society’s Boston Chapter, and faculty at the MIT IMPACT Program. He has published in excess of 100 peer-reviewed research papers and patents, and has received a number of awards for his research. He has served as a grant evaluator on the national science councils of Canada, Singapore, Norway, Romania, Chile, and the United States.
He received his doctorate in electrical engineering from Oxford, postdoctoral training in neuroscience from MIT, and executive education in venture capital from Harvard Business School.
