Tanya is a Principal with ArcTern Ventures, a Toronto based $200m fund investing globally into breakthrough startups and entrepreneurs addressing climate change and sustainability. She brings a lifelong passion for sustainable urban growth and nearly a decade of experience across startups, investing, strategy and operations to her current role that spans identifying, investing in, and partnering with innovative and ambitious founders across energy, resource efficiency, advanced manufacturing and materials, mobility and foodtech/agtech.
Prior to joining ArcTern, Tanya was on the leadership team at Autzu, an early stage startup at the intersection of connected vehicles and ridesharing fleet operation. Previously, she led strategy, growth, commercial diligence, and operational improvement engagements for diverse clients – including consumer services, fast growth tech, electronics, and industrials – as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, and developed and invested in greenfield infrastructure projects at Meridiam Infrastructure, a leading global public-private partnerships platform. Earlier in her environmental engineering career, Tanya’s experience included public transit planning and delivery at Hatch Mott MacDonald and municipal infrastructure planning and asset management at GENIVAR (now WSP).
Tanya holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BASc in civil and environmental engineering from University of Toronto.
