Sean has delivered value across healthcare strategy, operations, and policy for 15+ years. He also helped found two companies in areas of wellness robotics and artificial heart (LVAD). Today, Sean is interested in improving outcomes and removing waste in healthcare through digital diagnostics & therapeutics, remote chronic patient care, digital front door, cybersecurity, data interoperability, and disruptive enablers like AI and NLP.
Prior to Philips Ventures, Sean led Philips Group Strategy programs incl. global digital transformation, health cloud commercialization, wearables strategy, and turnarounds of consumer health products. He also worked to improve policy at the US FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health, in consulting at the Boston Consulting Group, and research at Johns Hopkins and Cambridge University. Sean sits on the boards of Orbita, Babyscripts. and a number of other early-stage digital health and medical device companies. He holds a PhD in Engineering from Cambridge University (developing expertise in AI, algorithms, and data science) and a BSci Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins.
