Lu Zhang, Founder and Managing Partner of Fusion Fund, is a renowned Silicon Valley investor and a serial entrepreneur. Lu graduated from Stanford School of Engineering. Lu founded Fusion Fund in 2015 and now manages way over 100-million-dollar capital, actively investing in early-stage companies empowered by cutting edge technologies. Lu leads the Fusion Fund management team consisting of seasonal investors, distinguished entrepreneurs, and the U.S. National Academy Engineering Scientist. Lu and Fusion Fund funnel media coverage including Forbes, CNBC, TechCrunch, the Phoenix TV, etc. Fusion Fund portfolio has multiple IPO and M&A exits.
In 2018, Lu is selected as Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (Davos). Before this, she also got selected as Silicon Valley Women of Influence 2018, Top 10 all America Chinese Youth and Top 30 early-stage investor in the Global Entrepreneurship Week. In 2017, she was awarded as the Forbes US 30 under 30 & Featured Honoree of VC category. As the first Chinese investor covered in the U.S. VC category in Forbes, she also received the Forbes Asia 30 under 30 of Finance category at the same time. Lu was later selected as the Town & Country 50 Modern Swans Influencer. Being the first Chinese to receive this honor, she represents the top female entrepreneurs and influencers in the U.S. In the same year, Lu was selected in the Hurun Midas List as the TOP 30 early-stage investor. Prior to starting Fusion Fund, Lu was a Venture Partner at Fenox Venture Capital, a 1.4 billion capital in Silicon Valley. She was also the Founder and CEO of a medical device company focused on non-invasive technology for the early diagnosis of Type II diabetes (acquired in 2012).
Lu is active in the entrepreneur and investor communities providing mentorship and serves as an advisor to programs like Microsoft AC, Singularity University, StartX at Stanford, and Youth Council of Future Forum.
