Akhilesh is a Principal at MVM Partners, a venture capital firm that has been investing in high growth, commercial-stage healthcare businesses for more than 20 years. He is a physician by training and combines clinical, business, and policy expertise to identify and execute on opportunities in health technology.
Prior to joining MVM, Akhilesh worked with the executive leadership of two large health systems and a government agency (Stanford, Sutter Health, and California Health and Human Services) and helped launch one of the first direct to consumer specialty telemedicine platforms in an academic medical center. His research on healthcare systems has led to more than 20 scientific publications and 50 articles in the popular press including in the Washington Post, Scientific American, and Stat News. Akhilesh has an MD and MBA from Stanford University, and an AB from Harvard University.
He completed a transitional medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
